1600 Villa Medicea di Lappeggi where Gentlmen Hunt in the Orchard

Villa Medicea di Lappeggi by Giusto Utens (Flemish artist, 1558-1609) who painted a series of 14 glasses of villas & their gardens near Florence.

Was this villa owned by the Medici family from 1569 to 1738. The villa was surrounded by orchards, and a practical walled garden adjoined the villa. Typical of the area & of the period, this painting shows a group of gentlemen hunting in the lower right.
